Ok, so 2015 is already busier than last and I can imagine that's just what life is for me. I am much happier when I am busier. Blogging is definitely put on the back burner because as much as I thought my photography would slow down after fall, it just remains steady with people booking into spring/summer and booking their newborns sometimes the moment they find out they are pregnant. I am incredibly thankful for this hobby that I love and adore, and having an incredibly supportive hubby and family that help make it possible.
So onto my first blog post for 2015 that is way overdue. My dad turned 74 this year. So hard to believe. He doesn't act a day over....well three when he is around my children. That's a joke dad/mom if you are reading this. (my mom is shaking her head, like 'yup, he's a third toddler')
On Sundays my dad will leave our house when the kids go down for a nap and on snowy days, he will be sure to tell me to text him when Austin wakes up from nap so he can take him outside to play. They love to make snowballs with the infamous snowball maker shown below. This year has been weird because either we have had too cold of temps or not enough snow or maybe even TOO much snow to go out. So the days the kids get to go out and play on the weekend have been full of fun.
Every once and a while Ava will come out of hibernation to make it outside. That girl will sleep from 1-5p on the weekends if you let her. So she is usually woken up to remind her it's not night time and we have some fun to have!
I ran outside for about 5 minutes to snap pics because I think Grandpa and the kids had fun being out there without me telling them 'don't eat the snow', 'don't throw chunks of ice', 'don't walk over there it's too deep'....typical mommy comments.
Oh Austin, you are growing up so fast these days.
Ava is very excited for her upcoming kitty birthday party. I don't think it's hard to believe she is turning three. She is growing taller and not far behind Austin in size which makes me treat them often like twins. I enrolled both of them in a gymnastics class for 3-5 year olds and this is when I notice their age difference the most. Austin is following all directions and able to remember what to do in a circle of 5 stations. Ava on the other hand is busy twirling like a ballerina and looking for recognition from the teachers every time she completes something. She skips in front of other kids in lines, skips different stations, and doesn't always pay attention. She is probably the youngest in the group and it shows. It cracks me up that I hear Ava's name being called very often to grab her attention and tell her where she should be. Such a little diva.
I feel blessed when I look at this picture. My parents are a huge part into why my weekends...well I was going to say aren't a crazy chaotic mess, we kinda always exude crazy and chaotic but it's just much better when they are around.
Here's to 2015. Currently I am working on Ava's kitty birthday party, my new prop business called Twinberries with my amazing partner in crime Courtney, hopefully learning photoshop since I consider myself a Lightroom pro, going to Kindergarten round up for Austin next month (eek), re-taking my boards as a physician assistant, and so much more. Very excited to see what this year brings.
